I have just started watching 'True Detective' and im impressed not by the story line but the visuals. I read this article today about how they have put in a 10 minute tracking shot. In movies you see this all the time with director after director referencing the work of their heroes using a long take tracking shot. Goodfellas, Touch of Evil, The player, all have brilliant uses of this. One of Hitchcok's movies was almost a trakcing shot for the whole movie. But you rarely see it in TV shows. Click on the links below to see the best examples.
Of course a tracking shot might be in your exam clip so its good for you lot to think about the connotations of this technical decision and what that could represent about the characters involved.
