  • WE MEDIA REVISION - The guides

    MrSloan 14:35
Here I have added in the best We media resources you need to start preparing for your exam:

(I cannot possibly print all this stuff out so don't even ask!)

Theory overview: ALL THEORIES ARE IN HERE:

A fantastic revision guide  (although slightly out of date, 6 years!)

    An intro to tech:

    Fantastic general revision:

     Writing guides:

Now you just need to apply theory and these writing techniques to the question through the case studies you have...

CASE STUDY 1: The Arab Spring - how people used web 2.0 to bring down their dictatorship governments

CASE STUDY 2: Wikileaks : How the internet allowed anonymity to whistle blowers to expose the corruption at the heart of the worlds governments

    WikiLeaks from Richard Bányi

    Wikileaks from Alex bj?lig

Case Study 3: Edward Snowden and the NSA :how one whistleblower used the inetrnet to expose the spying of government on its people

Trailer for film: Citizen four is below but full film can be found here:
    https://thoughtmaybe.com/by/laura-poitras/

The digital divide in the post-Snowden era from Ian Clark

CASE STUDY 4: you must choose something smaller , local and that attempts to use the media democratically in the same way to the big case studies but just smaller.

REMEMBER YOU MUST ALSO TALK ABOUT THE DOWNSIDES AND BAD POINTS ABOUT THE WEB 2.0 GENERATION:

    So lots of ...

    Andrew Keen:
    http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2015/feb/09/andrew-keen-internet-not-answer-interview

    Morozov:

    http://www.theguardian.com/profile/evgeny-morozov

    Gladwell
    http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2010/10/04/small-change-malcolm-gladwell

and this retort aimed at him..

Ok if you can get all this down onto a page of A3. Then you will be fine ! good luck
