  • We are now delving into further analysis of camera techniques and the connotations they give.

     You will need to create a directors commentary of a scene analysing or annotating a video to show the effects on the viewer.

  • Students complete an individual powerpoint  / Prezi presentation on either Capitalism or Socialism.  They have one hour and must include:
    1. Definition.
    2. Outline of main ideas
    3. Three quotes from famous theorists /academics
    4. Advantages
    5. Disadvantages
    6. The role of the Media within the system
    7. Their personal opinion (and reasoning) about whether they support its ideas. 
    8. Images / video if possible.
    This needs to be done for the end of the day

    Watch the video above (yes all of it!) Michael Moore's Capitalism : A love Story, In the comments below write down 6 examples that are used in the film to make the point that capitalism isn't very good, or fair, or corrupt, or annoying or.. oh you get the idea!

    Today we are going to get a bit indulgent and delve into the world of camera angles. There is a brilliant resource online (link above) and we will be using this to help you understand some of the key camera shots filmmakers use and why

    The List of camera shots from Empire : Your job is to research and find  3 examples of each shot ad explain the potential effect on the viewer and why a film maker might use this type of angle or movement.

    Remember your going to present these back so maybe use 'prezi' or some other presentation software that allows you to embed videos.

    Remake the final 2 minutes of the shootout from the Good, The Bad and the Ugly in under 2 hours.

    You need to focus on camera angles and making sure you get enough of all the different shot sizes to edit all together.

    2.What evidence does she give for Barak Obama being a brand ?
     
     
    3. Which one single event does she say blew up and destroyed the resistance to anti capitalism, anti corporation movements that had started because of the book?
     
     
    4. How could you sum up her feelings towards Obama and his campaign / brand?
