Year 12 : Magazine Pre-prodcution deadlines

Here are your deadlines for this term. We will try to stick to this as much as possible and it is important you are posting on your blog at least twice a week.

You will also eventually receive a mark out of 20 for your Pre-Production so it is important that you are aware of how you will be graded. the
criteria is below:

Foundation Portfolio – RESEARCH AND PLANNING

Skill	Minimal Evidence: Level 1	Basic Evidence: Level 2	Proficient Ability: Level 3	Excellent Ability: Level 4
Research into similar products and a potential target audience.
Organisation of actors, locations, costumes or props
Shotlists, layouts, drafting, scripting or storyboarding
Time management
Use of appropriate digital technology or ICT in the presentation

Overview of the year’s production deadlines

Intro Week: 15th Sept

Preliminary task: Start Wed 24^th Sept

Week 1: Intro to photoshop: Take photos of School + Photos of 2 friends in Medium Close Up

Week 2: Come up with 3 titles and 3 different mastheads: Put these ideas on your blog

Research school magazines

Week3 : Design a front page and find 3 similar front pages:

Week4 : Put it all together to make the front page of a school magazine

Week 5 : Create contents page + Brief Evaluation and presentation (on blog / vlog)

START MAIN TASK: Monday 3r^d  November

Week 6 :

Research… find lots of examples of MUSIC MAGAZINE covers and articles you like, explain their appeal to you .

Make a Moodboard

Audience research… what do they like in your genre ? – How can you get evidence fo audience research up on your blog?

Week7:

Masthead and title.. look at other designs, design 3 or 4

Find other fonts you might use on you blog

Week 8:

Design a photoshoot, profile pictures of a friend: lots of flat plans . write about props costume etc.

Scan in these designs and upload them to your blog

Take the photos! (over 30 for you whole magazine)

Week 9:

The photo shoots : organise them get props and locations and go and take lots and lots of pictures

Week 10: 

Manipulate photos in different ways in photoshop and explain the effects.

Front Cover Design….. Find 3 front covers you like the style of .. put them on your blog and explain appeal.

Design your own… scan flat plans put them up on blog

Week 11

Start Front page in photoshop

Week 12:

Finish front page before DEC 19^TH
